Time To Wake Up

Folks in town brought me a mature female western screech owl. She had been hit by a car. I have raised thousands of birds, so they thought I could help her. She knew I was no danger to her and wanted to help. I caught mice for her for a couple of months. Finally I took her to the rapture center in Eugene, Oregon. They found that her eye had been injured, and that was why she kept turning her head upside down. I called for three weeks to check on her. On the last call they said  they put her down because she could never be put back into the wild. I always wanted to paint her and when my friend Joe found this old piece of wood, I knew it was the right setting.
