The painting this time is of a beautiful Cougar, America’s answer to the African Lion, perched up on a big snag. They have been hunted down to almost extinction anymore, and only exist in 16 states today. Still, in so many states, they get no respect. I just read an article that said in Nebraska they only know of less than 50 cougars that reside in the state. Still, they’ve given trophy hunters five cougars to kill, saying that it makes them money to operate on. Imagine that mentality. They have no problem with livestock kill either, so there’s no reason for it. It seems the most people who are against the cougar are so because they compete for the same things, deer or elk. God help something that eats the same thing!
