CALM BEFORE THE STORM

RAMS - CALM BEFORE THE STORM     Oregon is full of animals, from the mighty Elk to the tiniest shrews and mice.   For a painter like me, that is a wonderful place to live.   We have so much to stimulate that creative juice that keeps us happy inside a studio working on that next "masterpiece".     Oregon's Columbia River Gorge has that diverse animal population. Every time I drive through the gorge, I see a big herd of incredible bighorn sheep.  Since I always have my camera along, you can often catch me stopping alongside the road and slipping through the sagebrush in search of that perfect shot.  These two rams were busy watching the female herd that was farther up the hill and I caught a photo of the look on his face when he sensed my presence and swung his head my direction.  It looked to me like he was excited that maybe one of those ewes had circled around behind them; I am sure I was a big disappointment.
