LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

“LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT” I have been painting only in oils for the past 40-plus years.  Recently, however, I challenged myself to try to re-master painting with acrylics. I was on a photo shoot in Canada with a wonderful, professional photographer friend when I was directed to where I might find these bears. I ended up taking a couple hundred photos and was excited to get back to the studio and start this painting, this time using acrylics. I painted the bears heading towards each other to maybe reflect a challenge about which one was going to back off. When I had the painting finished and backed up to look at it, I saw what I thought might be a love-struck look on the bear on the right so changed my mind as to their intent.
