SILETZ BAY BALDY

“SILETZ BAY BALDY”   For many years I’ve harvested crab in the Siletz River Bay on the Oregon Coast.   The channel is narrow and it snakes through the mudflats so boaters must be careful.  Old trees that fall along the Siletz River during the year are brought by winter storms and high water into the bay.  I wanted to paint the tree stuck in the mud of the bay, for almost five years.  The day I saw a bald eagle sitting on the tree I decided it was finally time, snapped a bunch of photos and started the painting the following day.

The painting is 20” x 40, oil on canvas with a gallery wrap.
