BIGHORN SHEEP

“BIGHORN SHEEP”      A huge benefit for myself as a wildlife artist is time I get to spend with and around animals.  I've traveled to Alaska many times where the scenery and wildlife are incredible.  I came across this Dall Sheep on a trip to the Alaska Zoo in Anchorage.   He was such a character I really wanted to capture his personality in a painting.   I was eating red licorice while I walked around the park and when I gave him a small piece, I immediately became his best friend.  He followed me around, keeping his eye, twinkle and all, locked on the licorice package in my back pocket.
