Jelopy-with-Chukers

I am fascinated with history and was extra excited when I got the chance to visit a preserved gold rush ghost town, aka State Historic Park, of Bodie, California.  It intrigued me for a long time and I’ve now completed two paintings depicting old cars from the area.  This painting features a game bird called a chukar that live in the area.    When we arrive there usually scatter and hide but as soon as we leave, the wildlife comes back.
