Salmon River log jam

SALMON RIVER LOG JAM
We have a beautiful, small, river running along the highway from my house to the coast. It's called the salmon river and it get larger as it gets closer to the mouth, dumping into the ocean. During the winter months we have lots of rain, and lots of snow up in the higher parts of the mountains. This causes a lot of water to come down this river, sometimes bringing lots of brush, rocks, and trees with it. The logs help form pools, where it makes the water back up, and helps the fish. I thought it would be a challenge to paint one of these log jams. It was a good challenge, and I'm happy with the final look.
