QUAIL - BOARD MEETING

“QUAIL - BOARD MEETING”    One of the things that brings joy to my life is feeding the hundreds of birds that wait for me on our lawn each morning. There are almost 50 quail that live in our pasture that arrive each day demanding breakfast. They are such a beautiful bird. I have long wanted to do a really detailed painting of them but continually failed to take a photo I thought good enough to work from. On a photo shoot in the San Juan Islands, I met Al and Elaine Wilson. They are incredible photographers who travel the country in search of amazing material. They had taken many magnificent quail photographs and offered them to me to use for reference. That’s all it took and I was off and running with this artwork. I truly enjoyed this painting and it is one I am very proud of.
